Tired of trying to find a pattern online for just the right hat, purse, scarf, gloves, mittens, etc.? Me too! I have decided to share the creations I have made from patterns that are FREE online and how I altered to suit my needs and personal taste. There are tons of crochet patterns to be had online. However, lots of them are outdated and/or have errors which make a decent finished project a difficult task.
About me... I have been a crafter for about 35 years, most of which I spent either knitting or crocheting. As life got busier, I did not have the time for knitting, but the fun of taking a skein of yarn and turning into a finished project has not diminished. I am a very experienced crocheter and can usually amend most pattern errors or alter for a better look or fit. I have created a few simpler patterns for cat and dog toys and even a Wicked Good Purple Witch Hat for Halloween! Some of which I will share here for others to enjoy. Patterns I am reviewing I will include pix of finished projects and links to the pattern or the pattern itself.
I am posting a couple pix of the Purple Witch Hat modeled by my junior witch in training... Pretty cute eh? I did this hat in classic Black, a tri-colored "Candy Corn" version and the purple hat with flowers seen in the pix. All were made with a regular 4 ply like Red Heart Super Saver as a stiffer yarn gives this hat a better crooked shape. Inexpensive AND washable (Minus the ribbon on the flowers of course.)
I have a Jack Skellington Hat I will be adding pix of and hopefully a pattern this week. That is, if I can pry it off my tweenager's head long enough. LOL.
Please feel free to email me or leave a message on the blog with any questions or suggestions.
Thanks all,
Mary
